Dean Stockwell, Sandra Dee, and Ed Begley (in his final performance) star in Roger Corman's 1970 adaptation of H.P. Lovecraft's "The Dunwich Horror." With great performances from Begley as the Lovecraftian occultist/scientist hero Dr. Henry Armitage and Stockwell as the goat-like but groovy and charismatic Wilbur Whateley (who is intent on sacrificing a half-nude Sandra Dee to Yog Sothoth), plus psychedelic visuals and score, you can't go wrong with this film. While not completely faithful to the Lovecraft story, this film is fairly true to the spirit of the text, and is injected with a liberal helping of 1970's ambiance. Atmospheric, action-filled, and sometimes humorous, we highly recommend this film as the ultimate cult classic among Lovecraft fans.
