"Shub-Niggurath Capra silvae cum mille prolibus" was conceived of as a page taken from a medieval Latin edition of the dreaded Necronomicon. Shub-Niggurath, though mentioned only a few times in Lovecraft's writings, stands out as a rare female deity in his mythos. I have depicted her as a dark mother goddess, suckling one blasphemous horror whilst releasing another into the nether; her belly beginning to swell with the next of her never-ending spawn. This limited edition print was conceived, carved, and printed by Liv Rainey-Smith.
