H.P. Lovecraft Oval Portrait shirt

$22.95

Howard Phillips Lovecraft was born on August 20, 1890 and passed on March 15, 1937. A memorial to Lovecraft, this design places him in a Victorian-style oval portrait featuring a Silver Key and the suggestion of looming Mi-Go, against a scene of the ancient cosmos and a sinister mountain range that could rise on dimly-lit Yuggoth or encircle the haunted Plateau of Leng in Lovecraft's fantastical Dreamlands. Lovecraft is commonly regarded as one of the most influential American horror writers of all time, and is frequently compared to Edgar Allan Poe. The man responsible for creating the octopus-headed giant Cthulhu and the Necronomicon, the most infamous book of forbidden secrets, helped to define the genre of the Weird tale and spear-headed the genre of Cosmic Horror, which is the idea that the universe is an alien and dangerous place, incomprehensible to most sane people. His stories often feature protagonists who encounter horrible beings from outside our world, resulting in horror, insanity, and death.

Printed with discharge ink for a soft look and feel on a black preshrunk 100% cotton shirt.
