This is the final "Lovecraftian Gothic" poster (11" x 17") by Brian Callahan, an homage to Grant Wood's "American Gothic", which shows H.P. Lovecraft as a farmer, pitchfork in his hand, next to his lovely Mi-Go partner (from "The Whisperer in Darkness"), and a "colourful" meteorite (from "The Colour Out of Space") streaking in from outer space. Placed side-by-side with the teaser "Starship R'lyeh" festival poster, these two posters fit together to form a continuous image.
In addition to the posters, the official T-shirt is also available here.
The 2011 H.P. Lovecraft Film Festival in Portland, OR (September 30 and October 1, 2011) brought to the screen notable films like the H.P. Lovecraft Historical Society's "The Whisperer in Darkness" and Huan Vu's "Die Farbe" (The Colour Out of Space), as well as some truly great short films. All in all, it was a blast, and featured several guests including filmmakers Huan Vu, Jan Roth, Sean Branney, Thomas Nicol, Rick Tillman, and Syl Disjonk, as well as author Jenna Pitman. Be sure to watch for the next H.P. Lovecraft Film Festival, taking place in May of 2012 in Portland, OR.
